What is plantar fasciitis?

The plantar fascia is the thick band of tissue on the bottom of your foot that runs from your heel to your toes. This fascia supports the muscles and arch of your foot. It can overly stretched, causing tiny tears on its surface. This can bring on pain and inflammation called plantar fasciitis.

Plantar fasciitis often presents as pain in your heel and tends to be worse when you get out of bed in the morning or after you’ve been sitting for a long while. It can feel better with activity but get worse if you spend a long time on your feet.

Can orthotics help with plantar fasciitis?

Definitely!! Custom Sole Supports™ orthotics are made to correct the position of your unique feet so that stress will be taken off of the plantar fascia.

What is the fastest way to cure plantar fasciitis?

Dr. Meacham can show you a number of exercises for strengthening your feet and toes. But the fastest way to cure plantar fasciitis is to go to correct your posture, beginning with your feet. That way, the sore parts of your feet aren't doing more work than they're able to handle.

"I have worn orthotics for my plantar fasciitis for over 30 years, since running as a collegiate athlete. They helped, but it was not until wearing properly fitted Sole Supports orthotics that my foot pain went completely away." - Robin Barton
